Member of the Month: Ariana Fotinakis- Founder of The 5D Business Collective and Intuitive Coach
Jan 18, 2022
The 5D Collective is filled with some incredible, passionate conscious humans and we're excited to be spotlighting them so you can learn more about the awesome folks you may meet at one of our monthly gatherings. January's Member of the Month is our very own Ariana Fotinakis, the founder of the 5D Business Collective, Intuitive Coach, Breath-work Facilitator, Mama, and much more.
1. Before we dive in, what’s your name, where are you based out of and how would you describe what you do?
My name is Ariana (obvs) and I currently reside on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh Nations. If I had to sum up the many things I do, I'd say I help creative entrepreneurs and change-makers combine their intellect and their intuition to create sustainable businesses and meaningful lives.
2. How would your best friend describe you?
I asked her and this is what she said: Intuitive, reliable, sensitive, consistent, intelligent, and growth-focused.
3. What is the most rewarding part of your work?
There are so many things it's hard to pick just one. I love witnessing folks do things they once thought were impossible. I love the moment when people realize the idea or hobby they've had can actually generate revenue and contribute to their livelihood. And I love facilitating connections between rad people; one of my favourite things is when I see members of The Collective collaborating with one another!
4. When did you join The Collective and how did you find out about it?
Hah, I suppose you could say I'm an OG 5D member! In the summer of 2020 I knew our community needed a rebrand to reflect the intuitive direction we were going in. I was sitting with a few different names, and then one night I was driving alone on the Sea to Sky highway just after the sun set and The 5D Business Collective came to me. I spent hours in meditation for the next few weeks and journeyed to the spirit of 5D to understand how it wanted to manifest.
5. Do you know your Sun/Moon/Rising?
Capricorn Sun, Aquarius Moon + Rising
6. Do you know your Human Design profile?
5/1 Manifesting Generator with Sacral Authority
7. What would the autobiography of your life be titled?
All of the Ways in Which I Fuck Myself Over: Stories of Sobriety and Self-Actualization (don't steal that title from me because I will write that book one day 😉)
8. Can you share an unexpected lesson from your entrepreneurial journey?
A big lesson I have learned and continue to deepen into is around what it means to be committed to something. I spent most of my life as an over-achiever and even used to joke that when I was drinking or partying I gave it 110%, and about 5 years into my entrepreneurial journey I completely burned myself out. Opening myself to the idea that resting and slowing down doesn't mean I'm not committed has been a big learning process. Again and again I've had to learn that things don't need to happen all at once (or at all!), and that by slowing down and focusing I actually create more space to manifest that which I desire.
9. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My first business coach shared an analogy about marketing that's stuck with me ever since. Your marketing efforts are like a garden; some seeds will sprout relatively quickly, and some will need to be nurtured for a long time before anything is visible. Sometimes the sprouts you were really excited about will die, and the others you didn't give much thought to will bloom in ways you could never have imagined. I love this way of looking at things because in an age where we expect immediate results, plants have a lot to teach us about patience and letting go of attachment to outcomes.
10. Who inspires you?
Honestly, every single member of The Collective that I've had the chance to connect with during one of our calls. Saying yes to your dreams and putting yourself out there is no easy feat and I have major respect for our community. Our members, such as Anvita Akkur and Jessica Forrest, who joined knowing they wanted to start something and then actually took action on it and made their ideas a real thing are major badasses.
I'd also have to say my baby girl Luna inspires me, not necessarily because of the things she does (let's be real: a 6-month old doesn't have many skills) but because of who I want to become for her. I want to show her it's possible to do what you love and make a positive impact in your community.
Be sure to connect with Ariana on her instagram and website.
